The Spanish Office of Research and Innovation offers one fellowship
(FPI) to carry out a PhD Thesis in Experimental Particle Physics at CIEMAT (Centro de
Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas), Madrid (Spain).
The fellowship is associated to the Project FPA2011-29237-C02-01, entitled:
``Participation in the CMS experiment at the LHC''.
The CIEMAT group has been responsible of
the construction of a large fraction of the barrel muon chambers of the CMS detector
and its associated read-out electronics.
Our group also has strong commitments and leading roles in activities
related with muon detection and physics analysis of LHC data, with active
contributions to new physics searches, top physics and electroweak studies.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to physics
analyses with the CMS detector at the LHC, with a particular focus on final
states containing muons. Frequent stays at CERN are expected.
The deadline for applications is 23 February 2012. The fellowship covers a maximum period of four years. Candidates must have finalized their graduate studies at the time of the start of the fellowship (second half of 2012). More details can be found (in Spanish) in the official Web pages of the Ministry (in Spanish).
